We have been eagerly awaiting the full release of Simon’s new project; ever since he recently shared some of the first photos with us. This car ticks every box when it comes to what we love - widebody, air ride, aggressive 20inch wheels, manual transmission and loads of road presence. Either love it or hate it, this 5.0 Mustang GT gets attention wherever it rolls and it caused quite a stir during our shoot.
Owned and built by the owner of Simon Motorsports (ensuring quality matches the aggressive styling) we were genuinely shocked to learn that this is Simon’s own car as we are well aware with his long-standing love affair with German cars. His drift spec E36 is something we have always admired, and no expense has been spared with this new build, this really does raise the game.
What started life as a stock 5.0 GT with the Performance package and Reacaro seats imported from overseas in April 2015 it was the first S550 Mustang to enter the Middle East, now features an Alpha One S550 widebody made by Alphamale Performance. The 21 piece kit includes a carbon fiber front splitter, hood scoop, carbon fiber canards, carbon fiber side skirts, 3 piece ducktail rear spoiler, carbon fiber rear diffuser and, of course, the signature fender flares.
This Mustang certainly isn’t lacking in the stance game, as well as the widebody kit it features 20inch AMP-5V 3 piece forged wheels. The 5V’s aggressive faces have been finished in gloss black with the lips and outer barrels being finished in candy red and featuring matte black hardware. The dished 20inch wheels are wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Sports which help in getting all the power this 5.0 NA V8 has to offer, to the ground.
The struts for the air ride suspension were custom-made by Alphamale, as at the time that this project was started there were no off-the-shelf struts available for the S550 Mustang. Other suspension upgrades include Eibach sway bars, an anti-wheel hop kit and upgraded bushings.
Alpha one S550 Mustang
Simon has kept tight-lipped about any performance mods, but it was easy to see that it puts out some power. On idle it sounds like it has a decent set of cams and a even the slightest nudge of the accelerator was enough to wake up the whole of City Walk.
Whether you love your American muscle or not, we are sure that this car will take the show season by storm. Being as it the perfect show piece for Simon Motorsports, we hope to see this out and about this season. Word on the street is that a second Alpha ONE S550 is in the making, and we are sure it won’t be long before we see it on the streets here in the UAE. Hopefully we will able to bring the full feature here first on CarCulture.ae.

We definitely left our mark at City Walk and we would like to thank Simon for taking time out of his day and allowing us to feature his Mustang. With it nearly being the start of the Motorsport season, we hope to be seeing more of Simon on the track in his E36.
